    Summary
The self-observations of creative individuals provide the most valuable data through which we can gain insight into an insufficiently studied field and place research on the creative process on a sound scientific footing. Books such as Goethe's Conversations with Eckermann, Fr. Hebbel's Diaries, or Stanislavski's My Life in Art are a rich source both for researchers of the personal work of these artists and for scholars who want to establish the general patterns in the creative process. After all, such personal confessions by significant artists are always solid and powerful nourishment for any young talent.

    Summary
Old Bulgarian literature began its development eleven centuries before our era and therefore differs sharply from modern literary creation. The most obvious indicator of the difference is the predominant religious character of medieval literary works. However, it would be far from the truth to claim that this character alone is the mark that separates them from new Bulgarian literature, mainly from that created in the second half of the 19th century to the present day, although it is inherent in both the content and the form of medieval art. Behind it stand peculiar artistic norms, a specific creative vision, which for modern man is very unusual. On this basis, the principled, problematic characterization of medieval artists who created historically conditioned, historically timely and historically valuable art should be built.

    Summary
When more than three decades ago, the unknown village teacher Krum Grigorov made his literary debut with his story "The Border", few could have guessed that these were the first sprouts of the future storyteller of the Bulgarian village. The small stories that soon appeared on the pages of the progressive periodical, written with a vivid sense of life's injustices, began to attract more and more attention from the reader. In them, the persistent efforts of the village teacher towards an artistic expression of his ideological anxieties and social aspirations stand out more and more clearly. And quite naturally, he soon found his place among progressive writing circles, joining the ranks of the anti-fascist literary front, which in the 1930s was rapidly growing and setting the tone for artistic life.

    Summary
Vladislav Grammatik is the most prominent representative of our literary life in the 15th century, and especially in its second half, when the roar of weapons had already subsided and when the Turkish attacks were directed west of Bulgaria. Although a number of articles and studies have been written so far about the life and work of Grammatik, there are still many unresolved or incorrectly illuminated questions. On the other hand, all this has not been collected in one place and thus the image of the writer has not been outlined more comprehensively. In this situation, it was necessary to proceed to writing a more comprehensive study, in which not only would the previous achievements of science regarding the life and literary heritage of Vladislav Grammatik, scattered in various publications, would be collected, but also new material would be attracted, certain issues would be reassessed, etc. In the light of these circumstances, the appearance of Georgi Danchev's work is fully justified.
