The article outlines the international discussions surrounding the evaluation of research to demonstrate the evolution of the concept of "impact" – from impact solely as a contribution to knowledge, through impact as a contribution to knowledge and the economy, to impact as a contribution to knowledge, the economy, and society. It discusses two approaches to evaluating societal impact and analyses the current state of research evaluation in Bulgaria. In conclusion, the argument is made that societal impact should be systematically evaluated also in Bulgaria.

В тази книжка на списанието публикуваме втората част от статиите, посветени на темата „Право и литература“. Тя е интерпретирана от философска, литературнотеоретична и психоаналитична перспектива. Поставят се въпросите за възможните съдебни и читателски грешки, за двойничеството и отцеубийството. Анализира се кафкианското разбиране за закона и напрежението между справедливост и легалност. Чрез наблюдения върху постановки на Хегел се разсъждава върху понятието за най-висше благо. В ключа на М. Фуко се допуска съществуването на специфична форма на литературна трансгресия. Не остава неразгледан и проблемът за участието на изкуствения интелект в съдебната практика, а също и този за репресивния и еманципаторския потенциал на закона. Тематичният блок е подготвен в партньорство със семинара „Литература и право“ на секция „Етически изследвания“ към Института по философия и социология при БАН и с катедра „Теория на литературата“ на Факултета по славянски филологии, СУ „Св. Климент Охридски“.

The text reviews Daria Vasileva’s “Renegotiating Kinship. The People of Kalofer from the Middle of the 19th to the First Decades of the 20th Century.” This book analyzes the epistolary correspondence kept in the archive of Nikola Nachov – a writer, historian, and bibliographer from Kalofer (1859 – 1940). In the letters, the examined cases of systematically incorrect kinship terminology encourage the researcher to hypothesize that, in the period under discussion, certain individuals became symbolically related on the level of communication. In the monograph, it is argued that the emergence of the “vocative kinship” and of extended kinship groups testifies the process of erosion of kinship as a structure and its transformation into a social network. The reviewed text is a fascinating reading and deserves the attention not only of the researchers of the literature from the National Revival period but also of a wider range of scholars.

Plamen Antov’s “Love and Fatherland. Studies on Bulgarian Revival Literature and Culture” innovatively interprets Bulgarian Revival literature as a national-ideological metanarrative that shapes collective memory. The monograph is an ambitious endeavor to reconceptualize the Bulgarian Revival through contemporary comparative literary, cultural-anthropological, and philosophical-historical methodologies. The book advances new readings of both canonical and marginal texts, investigating the tensions between popular and elite discourses, national and universal paradigms. The text also explores the interweaving of intimate motifs – love and eroticism – with the national ideal of duty to the fatherland within Revival culture. By situating more and lesser-known Bulgarian texts in dialogue with European and American literary contexts, the author makes a significant contribution to the field of Revival studies.
